Beers on Tap

Way back when the Australian craft beer movement was in it's infancy, the Royston was one of the first pubs in Melbourne to feature predominantly craft beer on tap. 

From  the day we opened in 2005, we devoted nine of the ten taps we had to a rotating line up of the best beers that Australia's micro-brewers were producing.

Life was tough in those pioneering times, but eventually the public began to understand our passion for good beer. 

We now have twelve taps plus a traditional English hand-pump, and we dedicate them all to craft beer, with a current range of eight permanent taps and four rotating guest taps.

The permanents are as follows:

 - Mountain Goat Hightail Ale
 - Little Creatures Pale Ale
 - Stone & Wood Pacific Ale
 - Feral Brewing Hop Hog IPA
 - Bridge Road Brewers Robust Porter
 - Thunder Road Pale Lager
 - Napoleone & Co Apple Cider

The hand-pump is pouring 3 Ravens English Ale for the majority of the time, unless we have a special guest beer on.

The four guests can be any of a broad selection of beers from Australia, New Zealand, USA, Denmark, Norway or any other country that is following the global trend towards real craft beer.
